B&B Paint

B&B Paint is located at 414 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in downtown Savannah.

Structure History
The building at 414 MLK Jr. Blvd., commonly referred to as the B&B Paint Building, is located on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, which was historically known as West Broad Street. It sits within the boundary of the Savannah Downtown Historic District. Originally constructed as a wood frame structure ca. 1891, the B&B Paint Building was built in the time when the surrounding area was experiencing immense growth and prosperity, eventually becoming a bustling center for various businesses and attracting individuals from different backgrounds, including African American, Jewish, Greek, Italian, Irish, and Chinese communities. The building was heavily modified over its lifetime, resulting in the permanent obstruction and alteration of many of its original characteristics and form.

More Info Ahead
The B&B Paint Building will be carefully deconstructed, providing an opportunity for community participation and the preservation of its rich history through thorough research and documentation. Join us on this journey as we dismantle the building board by board and brick by brick. We encourage you to share your thoughts, follow our research, and stay informed on our progress.
